So that vote in the Final 5 was basically "who will Joe give the winner title to, Animal or Jermaine?" basically, wasn't it?
Sad he chose to give it to Animal; would've liked to see Jermaine win.

That's kind of what I'm gathering, JEB. But, I talked to Joe Purcell last night, and he said he underestimated the relationships that Cody had with Ricky and Nicole, and had no idea that Cody was so close to them. I think that's why Joe made that move at final 5, because he thought he would have a chance sitting next to Cody in the end, whereas he thought he had no shot with Jermaine.
Additionally, it was confirmed in the jury roundtable last night that Jedda indeed would have won the game is Joe decided to get rid of Cody at f4 and take Jedda instead.
Unfortunately, I think Joe Purcell was in a lose-lose situation from the start. Had he played to his full potential like he did in Bali, he would have been seen as a huge threat to win and targeted for that, like Jermaine was. However, because he did play kind of UTR for a large portion of the game, his moves were more subtle and the jury doesn't seem to be respecting that. Then, after Brookie left, Joe Purcell was basically in a situation where no matter who he went to the end with, he was going to lose in finals.
Of course I absolutely love Cody to death and I'm ecstatic beyond words that he's going to win the game. I think he'll be one of the best winners in iSurv1vor history and I think he deserves this soooo much. I just feel like Joe Purcell is getting way too little credit. I think he played an amazing game and I'm disappointed that more jurors don't see it that way.

I don't think Joe was in a lose lose situation from the start.
The biggest gripe the AoE has with Joe is the fact that he wasn't as willing to go on calls and stuff with them, thus coming off as non-interested in getting to know them, or not interested in being social with them.
^ ofc that's not reality, but it's all about jury perception.

And I couldn't disagree more with Kirin about Joe losing the game once Brookie quit lol. Joe is losing the game because, like he said, he underestimated Animals relationships with people.
I said this somewhere before but, in ANY survivor where there is a questionnaire challenge... and someone is pegged as the frontrunner, and those in the game do nothing to prevent said person from getting to finals.... well, yeah they deserve to lose lol. It's how I feel about Joe and Brenda. Everyone knew Cody was in the best position to win @ like the final 9...

What I meant by that is that after Brookie quit, I felt like he would have lost against anyone in the finals. I mean idk it's hard to do "what ifs," but I mean given the fact that Ricky et al didn't like his lack of talking on call, and given the fact that he underestimated Cody's relationships, I don't think he could have won in any situation.

I kinda think so much could have happened that saying he woulda auto lost is unfair. I'm pretty sure he coulda have beaten like a Nax/Brenda finals. Or even Woods in there with one of those other two.
He's losing because the road he took to get to finals. Had he chosen a different path I think he could have had a better shot than the cards he's dealing with now.
Like, if he was the reason Cody was sent to jury, how could the jury deny him another win? (at least be more inclined to vote for him opposed to rt now)

Lol well that's why I asked the jury last night that if he sent Cody home at final 4, would he have gotten their respect? But they said no, and they would have voted for Jedda to win. But I agree, he actually could have had a shot if he took Brenda and Woods to the finals.

Joe is losing for being uninteresting to the cast. No one wants the winner of their season to be boring, it reflects poorly on the whole season. I bet you Joe could've salvaged a win JUST with jury questioning. If he saw Animal was writing novels, he should've written snappy, short, sweet and humorous responses. He's coming across as similar to Animal but less impressive.
